What a wonderful website!!! I stop by everyday to see what's new. As a devout Deaconite, I must say John inspired me in many many ways. He's inspired me to keep working hard and trying my best at school, work, and playing music. His smile always seemed to cheer me up when I felt down.
I think my greatest Deaky moment came when I visited the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleaveland. I was lucky enough to see Queen's display. It was amazing seeing Deaky's Musicman Bass. It looked to be in beautiful, still playable condition. The finish was gorgeous as it seemed to sparkle in the light. I wish I could've taken a picture. Just seeing it made my stomach knot up with joy, knowing that our beloved John played that instrument. I've heard that the Bass was recently moved from the Hall of Fame to be on display at the Hard Rock Cafe down the street. If I get out there again, I'll be sure to let you know where it is.
Mami, you've done a wonderful job with this website and keeping the Deaky love alive. Keep up the wonderful work, sweetie!!!

I do not hear any more great bass players as John Deacon. Give that Kid and course Queen for being a music/writing band. He writes the most simple songs that is really east to remember. My Fav is "In Only Seven Days"

Hiya!
I've loved this site sooo much that every time I'm online, I need to check it first:-)
John is my fave bassist then come Paul McCartney and John Paul Jones. Great stuff he played and composed. Who needs you, One year of love, Another one bites the dust, so many great songs! Now I can't stop listening to Misfire hehehe
Great guy, our JD. Queen is my favourite band and it's unforgettable. I miss Freddie very much and I wished I could have seen them live :-(
Hugs to everybody and a special one to Mr. Deacon. We love you, John!!!

"No one but John" i should say, best bass player that ever existed and ever will be! There are (or have been) many good bass players out there who are or where technically speaking very great, ...but nevertheless: John is a one-off and he has done a great job for nearly two decades and he understood exactly the idea of what bass player is and what the bass should do (and what it shouldn't do!)
i'm also proud of being a bass player myself, and many times i wonder: would i have become a bass player if John Deacon wouldn't have excisted as a bassplayer...
pitty the times have changed since 1991...
cheers ev'rybody and Keep yourselves alive!

Briefly speakin' , here's a plenty of different info-stuffs and I'm very glad of having found this useful , properly filled up site!
Will be guesting it as often as I can!
Wish you all the best and thanks for "It" !

Once more, my big greetings to you and your marvellous site!!! I'd wanna tell you that owing to this one, I've got a great number of interesting facts and headlines 'bout JOHN DEACON'S, which I hadn't had before!
Though I'm 25 years-old now and I'd been collecting everything, connected with my most favourite bassist since my tenth anniversary(I'm talking quite seriously!), the real ones were discovered to me here, on your 'immeasureable' site! It's a shredder of enigmas ! With no exaggerations !
Thus, with my deepest respect and devotion to yours, I oughtta thank, even cajole you for professional masterminding, listing on the new, and simply for your warm care after the 'old-checked' fans of JOHN DEACON!
Just keep on proceeding, 'cos you're arranging it quite very, very well!!!
Yours truly-sincered fan(by the way, I'm being a bassman presently), Vadim Kolesnikoff ! See you soon. Pa-pa !

I,too,am a Queen fan of the hughest order, however,I am also a musician as well, playing guitar, synthesizer, bass, and vocals in my band,Sibyria.Only a few bass players have influenced my playing, and one in particular--John Deacon!!However,as a musician,I have very little,if any information on John.I would NEVER want to disturb his privacy(I can understand any bitterness with the music business,if he has any,as I was horribly screwed by my record company!!)but as I have never seen any interviews with John in any musicians/bass player's magazines,I am curious as to the gear he was using(basses, amps, effects,if any, etc.)recording techniques--anything!!No offeense meant to Brian and Roger(and of course Freddie!),but I am able to find plenty of information on them(bio's,sheet music,etc.)--Are there ANY bass music books of Queen music?Especially thier first 5 albums(My band covers "Seven Seas of Rhye","Keep Yourself Alive",and would like to try "Fairy Feller's Masterstroke" and March of the Black Queen")I can already play a ton of Queen tunes on my guitar, but have a feeling I'll be playing bass live,so it's a little easier to sing lead.Any help from ANYBODY would be greatly appreciated!!Thank you very much in advance.Till Then--Craig Ziegler

今週のベストヒットUSAを見ていてリクエストが「I was born to love you」。その時克也さんがジョン・ディーコンは引退。と言われていたのでウィキペディアで調べてこちらに来ました。
トップページにある「ベースのひと」っていいですね。思わず笑ってしまいました。関西の人はオチつけるのがホントうまいですね〜。
